Operating instructions based on practice:

Screw it on to your 20lb (or larger) propane tank snugly, don't over tighten
Screw your 1lb propane tank onto the adapter snugly, don't over tighten
Flip your 20lb propane tank UPSIDE DOWN, it'll stand perfectly on the valve safety guard
Open the valve on your 20lb propane a few turns
IMPORTANT wait at least an hour

For best results set the 20lb propane tank in the sun during the process - which avoids having to freeze the 1lb propane tank before filling.

Instructions with this adapterFor maximum filling, place your cylinder tank in thefreezer for up to 30 mins before filling it.

Shut valve to BBQ propane tank
Insert nose tip of adapter into a 20 to 50 lbs propane tank fillconnection
Turn the adapter counter clockwise to a tight fit
Screw in the 1 lb cylinder propane tank clockwise into the adapter
Turn BBQ tank upside down then open BBQ tank valve
You will begin to hear propane gas transferring into the 1 lb cylinder tank
The regulator valve in the adapter will automatically cut off the flow of gas when a certain pressure is reached to avoid overfilling so sit back and allow it to fill on it’s own
When no more sound is coming from the tank, simply shut the BBQ valve and remove the 1 lb propane cylinder tank
