Can You Transfer Amazon Gift Card Balance to Your Bank Account?
Officially speaking, it’s actually not possible to transfer the Amazon gift card balance to your bank account as this goes against Amazon’s policies and guidelines.
That being said, there are actually several indirect ways through which you can actually redeem your Amazon gift cards and then withdraw those funds to your bank account.
Keep on reading this post to find out how.
How to Transfer Amazon Gift Card Balance from an Amazon Gift Card to Your Bank Account – Step-by-Step Guide
As we mentioned above, there are a couple of ways through which you can actually get Amazon gift card funds withdrawn to your bank account.
Let’s talk about the most simple and risk-free method first: Amazon Pay.
Transferring Amazon Gift Card Balance Using Amazon Pay Balance
Step 1: Redeem your Amazon gift card by typing in the claim code. Once you do so, the gift card balance will be credited to your Amazon account.
Step 2: Navigate to Amazon Pay and log in with your Amazon account credentials.
Step 3: Click on Withdraw funds.
Step 4: Select the bank account to which you want to transfer the Amazon Pay balance.
Step 5: Enter the amount you want to transfer money to your bank account.
Step 6: Click on Continue.
And that’s all there is to it!
It’s important to note that funds take 6 to 7 business days to be transferred to your bank account from your Amazon Payments account. Hence, this method is not preferable if you need the money sooner.
Once you follow these steps, you will see a pending transaction within your Amazon Pay account.
This transaction will remain pending for 6 to 7 business days and after that, it will either fail or succeed.
The great thing about Amazon Pay is that there’s no fee for withdrawing funds from your Amazon Pay account into your bank account. However, the minimum amount you can transfer is $1.
If your transaction happens to fail, you can contact Amazon customer support to find out why that happened. In most cases, they will accommodate you and initiate another identical transaction with your Amazon Pay balance which will succeed this time.
Transferring Amazon Gift Card Balance Using a Canceled Order
This method is slightly more indirect and risky compared to the Amazon Pay method described above.
Here’s what you need to do:
Step 1: Redeem your Amazon gift card by entering the claim code. You’ll know that it has been successfully redeemed once the money gets transferred to your Amazon account.
Step 2: Using the amount that was transferred to your Amazon account, make a purchase. For example, if you redeemed a $100 Amazon gift card, buy an item that costs $100.
Step 3: Cancel your order.
Step 4: Once you cancel the order, the amount will be refunded to your Amazon Wallet. Later, you can request the amount to be transferred to your associated bank account instead.
This method takes about a week but it works.
What Should I Do if I Lose My Amazon Gift Card?
If you’ve misplaced or lost your Amazon gift card, you can contact Amazon customer support.
If you happen to remember the Amazon gift card number, you can tell it to them and they will be able to reimburse your account with the amount.
But what if you can’t remember the gift card number?
In most cases, however, you may not be able to remember the Amazon gift card number. In that case, Amazon customer support will try to link the purchase of the misplaced card to you.
If they are able to find proof that you did indeed purchase the gift card, they will still reimburse your account with the corresponding amount.
Amazon Gift Cards for Business Owners
If you’re a seller on Amazon or even someone with a physical business, you can purchase Amazon gift cards in bulk to use as incentives for your customers.
Amazon offers this as a service known as Amazon incentives. Through this service, you can bulk order physical cards, virtual cards, and even claim codes.
You can customize them too.
They can be customized according to your own brand and they come in denominations ranging from $1 to $1000.
You have the option of either using standard Amazon gift cards or you can get them customized by adding your own business’s logo or any image you want to advertise your company.
The option for customization is also available for digital cards. You can send these digital cards to your customer via email or social media to further boost sales and customer loyalty.
Amazon delivery for a bulk order of physical cards is 1 – 3 business days whereas delivery for a bulk order of digital cards is 1 business day.
How to Get a Free Amazon Gift Card – In-Depth Guide
Do you have an old Fire Stick, smartphone, Amazon Echo, or Kindle tablet lying around in the house that you no longer use?
Most people don’t know that they can utilize these old gadgets to get a free Amazon gift card via Amazon’s trade-in program.
It’s understandable that you wouldn’t know about Amazon’s trade-in program since it’s not quite heavily advertised.
You can get easy discounts and (partial) refunds with it.
It allows you to mail in your old gadget or device to Amazon and get a gift card in return. You also become eligible for a discount on a newer version of whatever gadget you mailed in. Amazon even sends you a free prepaid label that you can use to mail in your old gadget.
All you have to do is visit Amazon’s trade-in page linked above to get an estimate of the worth of your old gadget.
It’s important that you be truthful about the condition of your gadget (for example, how much wear-and-tear it has, if it’s completely functional or not, whether or not it can hold a charge, etc.)
Once you answer these questions, Amazon will let you know how much your old gadget is worth. After you mail the device in, Amazon will send you a gift card worth the amount. Also, as mentioned earlier, you’ll also be eligible for a discount on that device’s newer version.
For example, if you traded in an old Kindle tablet, you will receive a gift card in return plus a 20 percent discount on the newer version of the Kindle tablet.
Can You Transfer Amazon Gift Card Balance to a Paypal Account?
Sadly, no. There’s no real way to transfer the Amazon gift card balance to a Paypal account.
The Amazon Pay balance method that we showed you above only works for a bank account.
You can try to transfer money using the same method for a Paypal account but reports have shown that Amazon declines the transaction when you use a Paypal account to transfer Amazon Pay balance in this way.
Wrapping Things Up…
There is no doubt that it can be difficult to transfer the Amazon gift card balance to your bank account.
However, your Amazon account can be used in a number of different ways and we’ve just shown you how you can transfer Amazon Pay balance to your bank account as well as how you can get gift card balance as cash through a refund for a canceled order.
Maybe one day we’ll get a direct method to transfer the Amazon gift card balance to our bank accounts but for now, Amazon’s policies don’t allow it.
