As a women owned, women run company, we want to do all we can to raise up the next generation of women leaders. Since 2005, we have graduated over 250+ women from our BOPS sewing program in Rajahmundry, India. The program spans a full year, is limited to 20 students a year and uses government standard sewing curriculum that is multi-faceted and comprehensive. Nearly all of these women are now supporting themselves with a sewing income with the help of a pedal sewing machine that we provide upon their graduation. Each one of these beautiful kantha fabric bags is sewn by a graduate of the Bops sewing program! Each bag has a tag on it that is signed by the woman that makes the bag.
