Here are some key features to look for:

Material

The material of the reed is an important factor to consider. Most reeds are made from cane, but there are also synthetic options available. Cane reeds are generally considered to be the best option for saxophone players, as they offer a more traditional sound and feel. Synthetic reeds, on the other hand, are often more durable and consistent in their performance.

Strength

The strength of the reed is another important factor to consider. Reeds come in a range of strengths, from soft to hard. The strength of the reed will affect the overall sound and playability of the instrument. A softer reed will produce a more mellow sound, while a harder reed will produce a brighter, more powerful sound.

Cut

The cut of the reed refers to the shape of the reed and how it is trimmed. The cut of the reed can affect the overall playability and sound of the instrument.

Price

Finally, price is an important factor to consider when choosing the best alto saxophone reeds. While it is important to invest in high-quality reeds, it is also important to find a product that fits within your budget.
